Fun & Achievements
Members are given project books at the beginning of each year to help them learn more about horses. Project books help 4-H members keep track of daily activities with their project horse or pony, including expenses, experiences and accomplishments.
A horseless project book is available for those without their own horse. You not only learn from your project(s), but from many other things you do in 4-H, such as club meetings, contests, trips, events, and fairs. When completed, your project books can be submitted for evaluation. Books must be reviewed, graded and members tested on the subject matter by club leaders in order to move onto a new project book the following year. There are many opportunities to receive recognition for your accomplishments. 4-H awards members who have done a good job and kept good records. Ribbons are awarded at 4-H fairs; medals and certificates are awarded by the state; and scholarships awarded at the National 4-H Congress. The Northern Chester County 4-H Horse & Pony Club is a nonprofit, nonstock corporation organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We are a member of the Pennsylvania State 4-H Program. |
